Safe driving is another big issue all over the world. However, it has to be said that the UK seems to have some of the worst drivers on the planet! The reason why safe driving is so important to me is evident on the page 'My Brothers Story'. However, I have also had a fairly minor accident which was caused by a driver not paying proper attention.

One evening in April 2022 I was travelling down a 2 lane road in Stockton. This road has a nightclub on it. I was in the right hand lane and there was a car next to me in the left hand lane. The car next to me had to swerve to avoid some people coming out of the nightclub and were walking in the road. The other driver knew that I was next to him because we were both neck and neck with each other travelling at 30mph.

Instead of slowing down and waiting for me to get ahead of him (i was concentrating on driving so did not see the people in the road) he decided to swerve straight into the side of my car. This burst my front passenger side tire and destroyed the front left wing and rear passenger door of my car. The force also almost pushed me into the oncoming traffic travelling down the other two lanes. I could barely control the car with 2 burst tires but managed to somehow skid to a stop in a hatched area between the 2 carriageways.

This crash has left me with a lot of lower back pain and has made an existing condition in my knee even worse. Sadly my car was written off but the other driver was very apologetic and accepted full blame for the accident. So those 2 reasons are why I have decided to launch this portion of Strength from Within as there are a lot of dangerous or careless drivers out there that need to be educated on the dangers of unsafe driving.
